Who we are:

How was AAFE created?

The Association of Francophone Actors in Spain (AAFE) was born in 2022 from a chat group that brings together French-speaking actresses, actors and other professionals from the audiovisual and performing arts sector based in Barcelona.

Spearheaded by actress Lisa Milet, the initiative seeks to create a strong network of collaboration and mutual support, fostering a connected professional practice that enriches both individual and collective development.

As a community, we are based on camaraderie, the exchange of useful information (such as job opportunities, promotion of shows or creative ideas), and mutual support during processes such as castings or projects in development.

We encourage active collaboration among our members, with the aim of promoting joint initiatives and strengthening the Francophone professional network in Spain.

The project began in 2023 when a group of French-speaking professionals in the audiovisual and performing arts sectors in Spain started connecting to exchange opinions, experiences, and resources. From this spontaneous initiative, an Instagram account was born, where each actor and actress has a personalized post serving as an introduction.

The community is growing rapidly, incorporating talent from all over Spain. The account is becoming too small, and an idea emerges: to create a website, funded by the community itself, that facilitates the hiring of professional French-speaking interpreters in Spain.

In 2024, the website design process began, driven by a team of volunteers and supported by several casting directors—Silvia Menéndez, Luci Lenox, Edu Prado, and Pep Armengol. During this same process, the Association of Francophone Actors in Spain was formally established to provide structure and continuity to the initiative.

The website will launch in 2025. It's a public platform aimed at industry professionals—casting directors, agencies, production companies—that allows direct access to each member's personalized profile, complete with contact information. The platform doesn't act as an agency: all contact is made directly with the talent or their representative.

From here, collaborations and events will begin to be planned with the aim of creating bridges between the audiovisual sector in Spain and French-speaking professionals, thus consolidating an active, visible and constantly evolving network.

To provide a legal framework for the project and facilitate the organization of future actions and events, in 2024 the Association of Francophone Actors in Spain (AAFE).

This non-profit association was created with the aim of showcasing the Francophone professional talent in the audiovisual field present in Spain, without the intention of acting as an agency or representing its members individually.

The current board of directors is made up of Lisa Milet (president), Arnau Redorta (vice president), Chap Rodríguez (secretary), Vincent-Grégoire Wu (treasurer) and Nathalie Meyer (member).

The AAFE is thus consolidated as a collective tool at the service of its members, in order to promote new dynamics of collaboration, visibility and action within the professional ecosystem.
